WEEK 2 TOPIC: LOVE- 1 CORINTHIANS 13
TODAY’S TOPIC: THE GREATEST COMMANDMENT-MATTHEW 22:34-40
The greatest commandment which was said by Christ Jesus came as a result of a lawyer trying to test Jesus, after Jesus silenced the Sadducees (Vs34).
One of the lawyer asked Jesus which of the commandment is the greatest and important in the law? Possibly he expected Christ to say “YOU SHALL NOT STEAL” which is in Exodus 20:15 or to state any of the law but Christ gave him an answer which contains all other laws.
The response Jesus gave them was this; Love the Lord your God with your heart, all your soul and all your mind and secondly Love your neighbor as yourself.
The only way we can love God the way Christ hasd stated it is to be completely obedient to the Holy Spirit and The Holy Scripture.
Finally you are not to show Love to the Christians alone but also to the Muslims, Traditional worshippers e.t.c and everybody. With this are union is complete with God.
