THE MAKING OF AN IMPACTFUL YOUTH

Introduction

The desire of God for us in the beginning was to be fruitful, multiply, replenish the earth and subdue it: and have dominion over flesh… etc. Genesis 1:28. We live in a world where everybody one way or the other strive to make “impact” or at least in a way a statement. However, there is a line of difference in being Impactful and making statement. The reality is that we have youth everywhere in our nation even more in the church who want to be noticed, showcased and celebrated I rarely see the real intention of GOD being manifested in today’s youth. I am not sure if it has been like this in the past time.

IMPACTFUL- WHAT DOES IT?

To be effective means to have a powerful effect on a situation or a person. To be impactful is synonymous to being a game of change, an unswerving and untiring being. Esther demonstrated this in the book of Esther – Esther 4:12-14. She did not just enjoy the glamour of the palace. She chose to salvage her people even if it will cost her life (Esther 4: 16b)
David also demonstrated this when the uncircumcised philistine was defiling the army of GOD. David stood up and decided to be a positive change, a force to reckon with in the dis-array that beheld his brothers- 1 sam. 17: 32. We are to change the people and situations around us for the better and not to sit and complain about them.

Traits of an Impactful Youth

  1. They are people who acknowledge the fact that they are able to do through God 1 sam. 45-47; Ezra 7:6, Ezra7:9, Ezra 7:28, Ezra8:18 Ezra 8:31.

  2. They don’t watch things happen, they make things happen- 1 Sam. 17:28

  3. They are enduring: they wait upon the Lord for the next direction Isaiah 40:31, Psalms 37:9. This is one the traits that’s sets David as a man after GOD’S own heart (2 Samuel 7:18, Psalm 62 :1,5)

  4. They learn from others Proverbs 18:15, 1:5

CONCLUSION

… Beyond seeing things happen, make a presence, I challenge you and me to be relevant and make impact that is lasting on us, church and nation. You don’t have to be everywhere. People may know you, but you are more relevant when your actions are impactful then mere making statement God bless you
